The Barney Marriott Cardiovascular Nursing Scholarship Program

Purpose: To provide motivated nurses financial support (up to actual tuition and a book allowance) to pursue higher education in the cardiovascular field.

Criteria:

• Earned Associate degree in nursing and be a licensed nurse
• Working towards BSN, Masters or higher degree
• Work experience as a professional nurse in a Pinellas, Manatee or Hillsborough County facility in cardiovascular-related fields
• Acceptance in an accredited program, either as a full-time or part-time student

Requirements:

The applicant must:

• Fully complete application
• Enclose a personal letter requesting financial support
• Enclose a separate statement of anticipated expenses for advanced studies including credit hours with tuition and book fees for Fall, Spring, and Summer if applicable, along with sources of income
• Enclose a one page, double-spaced, typed essay stating professional goals and plans for work after completion of study
• Enclose a copy of acceptance letter from the accredited program of higher education
• To be considered for the prestigious Alyce Rowswell Schroeder Award, please provide a one-page statement of your achievements and accomplishments (both personal and professional).
